    The Thermopolis Town Council approved a contract Tuesday to have Carr Coatings of Lovell do painting repairs to the Cedar Ridge tank at a cost of $98,925. Town engineer Heath Overfield recommended the company following their in-state bid rate being lower than the competition. “I’ve never worked with them, but based on their resume they can do it,” Overfield said.     There is just one weekend left in what has been a remarkable season for the Bobcat boys and girls track teams. Last weekend, the team traveled to Lander for the Regional Championships, with the boys team placing second and the girls taking third. Thirty-one personal records were achieved.     Thermopolis Middle School track teams have had a remarkable season this year, breaking several school records and setting a few new ones with events added this year. Chandler Maddock broke two school records for the eighth grade boys team. The first record is for the 200M set by John Wallace in 1984. Wallace had a record of 24.57, which was broken by Maddock with a 24.38. Maddock’s second record is in the 400M set by Joel Scogin in 1983.     The Travel and Tourism Board approved offering a renewed one-year contract to Cowgirl Consulting to the tune of $42,500, a five percent increase according to state park superintendent Kevin Skates. Also, the board approved giving $1,000 to the Smoking Waters Golf Tournament for their advertising. “They bring a lot of tourists in,” Skates said.
