On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

We print the names of all people upon their initial arrest. Names of minors are not printed.

7:22 a.m. Investigation of a misdialed 911 call.

6:45 a.m. Report of a disturbance at a gas station.

10:09 p.m. Agency assist for the police department.

5:10 p.m. A deputy attended a public relations event at the high school.

5:40 p.m. Agency assist for the police department.

9:13 p.m. A deputy investigated the report of an H2S leak in the area of East Cottonwood Creek Rd.

7:54 a.m. A 16-year-old male driver hit a parked car in the 400 block of North 6th St. The driver was cited.

Tuesday, Jan. 27

12:25 p.m. An 18-year-old female driver backed into a parked car. A warning was given.

12:37 p.m. A 19-year-old male from Thermopolis crashed his car at 2nd and Arapahoe St. He was given a citation.

Friday, Jan. 30

5:40 p.m. Report of a verbal altercation in the 800 block on Mondell. Robert Charles, 31, of Thermopolis was arrested for a warrant out of Washakie County.

Saturday, Jan. 31

4:59 a.m. Report of a deceased female. The family was notified.
