Teri Lynne Tjepkes Smith

Teri Lynne Tjepkes Smith, 60, passed away on January 27, 2023, from ovarian cancer in Portland, Ore.

She spent years as a community organizer in the Mountain Home. She volunteered at the youth center, put on fun runs, organized "spring flings," and took kids to the Boise YMCA.

After her kids were raised, Teri started a new career in administrative assistance. She followed work across Idaho and worked until the last minute she could (a common theme for her) for the US Army Corps of Engineers in Portland, Ore.

Teri devoted much of her life to caring for her daughters born with a rare syndrome which wreaked havoc in their family life. But Teri was steadfast.

Teri was tickled to be the grandmother to 3 little girls through her son, Jesse. She spent lots of time with Jesse, his wife Kurie and granddaughters, Bentleigh, Delilah, and Scarlett in the last three years of her life.

Teri is survived by her father, Wayne; husband, James Smith; brother, Jerry; sister, Kristina; and her kids (Spouses), Jesse (Kurie), Cami (Isaac) and Rebecca (Matthew).

Teri is proceeded in death by her mother, Betty; and brother, John.
