On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. We print the names of all people upon their initial arrest.

Sheriff’s Office

Tuesday, Feb. 22

3:08 p.m. A 36-year-old male was cited for alleged domestic battery causing bodily harm or injury to a household member against his 20-year-old girlfriend. The timeframe of the event was after the 24-hour period to arrest. 

3:14 p.m. Report of a citizen assist involving a 67-year-old female who requested a trespass notice be served to a 33-year-old ex-daughter-in-law. 

Thursday, Feb. 24

5:33 p.m. Nathan David Andrew, 23, was arrested on a warrant from Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, for failure to appear. 

11:52 p.m. Report of suspicious activity involving a light seen west of town. The deputy investigated and determined it was a front porch light blowing in the wind. 

Saturday, Feb. 26

6:29 p.m. Report of harassment involving a 51-year-old male who was screaming out the driver’s window of his vehicle. 

6:55 p.m. Report of an agency assisting involving Highway Patrol. A 911 call was made at mile marker 11 on Highway 120. Adam Spencer, 30, of Powell, was arrested for alleged use of a controlled substance, powder or crystal, possession of a controlled substance, pill or capsule, and driving while license was canceled. Mckenzie Grace Ray, 26, of Powell, was arrested for alleged use of a controlled substance. Michael Angelo Rosacci, 38, of Cody, was arrested for alleged use of a controlled substance. 

Police Department

Monday, Feb. 21

12:18 p.m. Report of a citizen assist involving a 52-year-old male former employee who complained his former employer did not pay him. The owner will contact the subject.

3:22 p.m. A 21-year-old male was cited for alleged shoplifting at a business in the 600 block of South 6th. 

5:26 p.m. Report of a welfare check involving a 42-year-old female who was at work and being harassed by her 39-year-old male ex-husband. The officer made contact and escorted the male subject from the location. 

Tuesday, Feb. 22

7:01 p.m. Report of found property involving a wallet discovered on Teepee Street. 

Wednesday, Feb. 23 

1:06 p.m. Report of harassment involving “disgusting” telephone calls to a manager in the 400 block of Park Street. The officer told the subject how to block the caller. 

Thursday, Feb. 24

2:47 p.m. Report of a citizen assist involving some children who were at a daycare and their father was intoxicated. The mother made arrangements to have the children picked up. 

10:58 p.m. A subject was given a place to stay for the night until a family member from Colorado can come and get her. 

Friday, Feb. 25

5:08 p.m. Report of information involving a subject who called to notify them that their vehicle broke down on Black Mountain Road and they will get it moved on Sunday. 

Saturday, Feb. 26

9:35 a.m. A 13-year-old male and a 17-year-old female were both cited for alleged minor in possession of tobacco. 

11:36 a.m. A 40-year-old female was cited for alleged use of a controlled substance, meth at the 700 block of Washakie. 

3:16 p.m. Report of a civil stand by that was later canceled. 

10:34 p.m. Report of theft involving two sets of keys stolen in the 100 block of Teepee. They have not been found.

Sunday, Feb. 27

12:34 a.m. Trevor Lee Berry, 20, and Mitchel Henry Pape, 19, both from Riverton were arrested for alleged interference with a peace officer and consuming alcohol while under age 21. Antone Ray Monroe, 24, of Riverton was arrested on a warrant for probation revocation. Also, 24 other individuals were cited for alleged minor in possession of alcohol while they held a party at an Airbnb in the 700 block of Fremont Street. They were not arrested because they did not run away from law enforcement. 

2:56 a.m. Report of motor vehicle theft involving a car with its keys left inside. It was later found by Wind River Police and the car was returned to its owner. 

1:54 p.m. Charles Walker, 56, from Great Falls, Montana, was arrested for alleged public intoxication. 

Circuit Court

Dominique Amaya, failure to provide proof of liability insurance, fees and fines, $560.

Sierra Lambertsen, driving while license is canceled, suspended, or revoked if not suspended for 31-5-229 or 31-5-233, fees and fines $240.
