Karen E. Romjue

Karen E. Romjue, 74, passed away July 8, 2021, at the Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions in Casper, Wyo.

Born December 25, 1946, in LaJunta, Colo., she was the daughter of Charles and Kittie Mae (Friele) Hiatt.

In 1965 she married Jack Smith. To this marriage were three children. Jack passed in 1980.

In 1985, she married Robert Romjue. To this marriage she gained three more children.

Throughout her life she was a school bus driver, secretary for two businesses and drove cattle trucks with her husband. She moved to Thermopolis in 2018 where she was employed by Thermopolis Hardware as a clerk.

Karen was a member of the River of Life Fellowship. She enjoyed gospel songs, fishing, hunting, sewing and reading.

Survivors include her mother-in-law, Norma Romjue; children, Jerry Smith, Carolyn (Chris) Smith-Lang, Sandy (Frank) Figueora, Norma Williams, Kimberly Cooper and Bobbi Jo (LA) Schauvliege; brother, C.L. Hiatt; 23 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother David; and both husbands, Jack Smith and Robert Romjue.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 15 at 10 a.m. at the River of Life Fellowship Church, 319 Broadway.
