Celebrate the graduates

On Sunday, May 16, 43 Hot Springs County High School gradutating seniors will receive their diplomas and wrap up their public school career.

There will be an in person graduation held in the high school gymnasium at 2 p.m. The school district has announced that seating in the gym is intended for family and invited guests of the Class of 2021.

If that does not include you and you would still like to celebrate the Class of 2021, don’t fret.

There will be a Parade of Graduates taking place at noon on Sunday. Family, friends, neighbors and all community members are encouraged to attend to celebrate the graduates.

The parade will include an extended parade route through town from Senior Avenue up past the VFW, right onto Broadway, left at the stoplight, down 6th Street to McDonalds, right on Shoshoni Street to Canyon Hills Road, to 14th Street, down 14th Street past the fire hall to Broadway, right on Broadway to the stoplight, left onto 6th Street and back to Senior Avenue.

Also remember, there are seniors graduating this year that completed their studies on line from home.

The graduates are facing an unknown future at a time of great uncertainty.

Let’s help them face that with optimism and hope by filling the parade route with smiling, happy, encouraging faces to send them on their way.

Hip, hip, hooray graduates!
