Mary Jean Scollard

Mary Jean Scollard, 89, passed away at Poplar Casper Mountain Rehabilitation & Care Center, November 4, 2020, where she had resided the last year.

Born May 12, 1931, in Thermopolis, Wyo., She was one of 4 children of Forrest & Therma (Canfield) Myers. After spending most of her schooling in Thermopolis she decided to graduate at Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyo.

In the early 50’s she married Glenn Scollard in Thermopolis.The couple raised two children, Gary and Sandra.While Glenn worked at Atlantic City Iron Ore Mine operations Mary Jean worked at Fremont Motors Ford Company.

She spent 12 years as a missionary to the Shoshoni & Arapahoe Indians on the Wind River Reservation which she enjoyed very much.

Before becoming a resident at Thermopolis Rehabilitation & Care Center for two years, Mary Jean lived on her acre of land and in her Mobile Home in Riverton, Wyo., and was attending church at a non- denominational church in Hudson, Wyo., served by Pastor Paul Morrison & family.

She is survived by her son, Gary, of Grand Junction, Colo .; brother, Wayne Myers of Ft. Collins, Colo .; three grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and one great, great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; daughter, Sandra & baby Ricky (lived 24 hrs.) after birth.

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 13 at 2 p.m., at Riverside Cemetery in Thermopolis, with Pastor Paul officiating. Viewing at Mortimore Funeral Home will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
