Annual horse sale Saturday at fairgrounds

The 37th Annual Spring Sale for WYO Quarter Horse Ranch is being held as usual this Friday and Saturday at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds.

Although the crowd in person may look smaller due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bill and Carole Smith are using Superior Livestock to live stream the sale in high definition so buyers can see the animals, bid and buy, all from home.

This spring there are around 70 head that will be for sale including broke geldings, home-raised yearlings and some started two-year olds.

There will be a parade of geldings on Friday at 7 p.m. along with a performance preview on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The sale will begin on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Anyone wishing to sign up and bid on the horses online may do so through the WYO Quarter Horse website, wyohorses.com. You may also download a free catalog of the horses that will be on sale from their website as well.
