Large dumpsters put out for spring clean-up

Spring is making itself known with daffodils and tulips popping up and grass getting greener everyday, so now is the perfect time to Make Thermopolis Shine with the annual Spring Cleanup.

Mayor Mike Chimenti proclaimed May 14-22 as cleanup week and encouraged all residents and business owners to clean up their properties in preparation for our upcoming tourist season.

The town will be providing four large construction dumpsters for residents to use, one near the tennis courts on 14th Street, one at 9th Street and Big Horn, another at 8th and Amoretti, and the fourth one can be found in the 200 block of 2nd Street.

Saturday will be Free Dump Day at the County Landfill for all town and county residents to dispose of their hard work themselves.

The regular rules for the landfill will be in effect, including proper disposal of paint cans and metals. There will still be normal charges for items such as tires and any appliances that contain Freon.

Elderly or impaired town residents may get help getting their items to the dumpsters during this week by calling the Community Officer, Ame Longwell, at 864-3114.

After the cleanup, yards that still need attention will be tagged with yellow advisements. Failure to attend to the yards in a prompt manner could result in fines as set out in the town codes.
