On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

2:04 p.m. No citations were issued following a fender bender in East Thermopolis.

9:12 p.m. Report of elk hunters possibly missing in the Owl Creek area. While Search and Rescue was organizing to respond, a highway patrol officer went to the location and the hunters were fine.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

2:06 p.m. Highway Patrol forwarded information about a vehicle heading toward Thermopolis that was being driven poorly. A 27-year-old female was cited for driving under suspension and speeding.

Friday, Dec. 20

9:34 a.m. Request for a trespass notice to be served on an individual.

1:35 p.m. Report of possible drunk driver. The vehicle was located and the driver was determined to not be impaired.

4:21 p.m. Report of a vehicle vs. deer accident on Highway 20 South.

4:55 p.m. A new property owner found medications left behind by the former property owner. They were properly disposed of.

Saturday, Dec. 21

2:20 a.m. A vehicle was observed being driven very slowly and weaving in the area of Sixth and Mondell. The driver, 48-year-old Summer Byer, was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

10:43 a.m. A couple of people harassing each other were told to stop. No citations were issued.

3:03 p.m. A 15-year-old juvenile was cited for possession of tobacco.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

9:07 a.m. Threats were being made back and forth between two parties. They were advised the issue was a civil court matter.

10:13 a.m. Drug paraphernalia was located laying on a street. It was destroyed.

3:31 p..m. Inappropriate drawings on a sidewalk with chalk. Extra patrol will be provided in the area.

Thursday, Dec. 19

11:35 No citations were issued following a fender bender in a parking lot.

4:40 p.m. No citations were issued after a report of a large, dead animal in a Dumpster.

4:54 p.m. Hit and run damage to a pole was reported.

Friday, Dec. 20

3:23 p.m. A found package is being forwarded to its owner.

Saturday, Dec. 21

12:35 a.m. John P. Nelson, Billings, was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance, camping in a state park, and sanitary issues.

11:17 a.m. An elderly female was cited for no driver license.

 Birth

 Maylee Loudan was born Monday, December 2, 2019, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Blair Allmaras and Shane Loudan.

She weighed 4 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 19 inches long.

Grandparents are Marcie and Kenneth Pettit.
