Historical society elects new officers

As a result of recent elections, the governing board of the Hot Spring County Historical Society starting on January 1, 2020, has been announced.  Heading up the group next year will be Sam Marshall who has been elected to the office of President.

Following in Sam’s footsteps are Vice-President Rick Hudson; Secretary/treasurer Carolyn Jo Marshall; Historical/Scrapbook Ellen Galyan; and Dick Hall as Media Savant.

Board Members are:  Ray Shaffer; Outgoing President Barb Vietti; Bonnie Bauer; Ed Shaffer and all members of the organization.

The new board is seeking ideas for the monthly programs and anyone that has a program of their own, or knows someone else that has one, are encouraged to contact President-elect Sam at any time.

The mission of the Historical Society is to protect and remember the history of Thermopolis and Hot Springs County and to find delight and pleasure in reminiscing ‘about the way things were way back then’ and, perhaps, satisfy one of those nagging questions about  ‘who did what to who...and why!’

The club meets on the second Saturday of most months at the Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Society on the corner of Broadway and Seventh.  It is however, dedicated to outdoor activities during the summer months--basically Memorial day through Labor Day, and no meetings are scheduled.

Membership is open to anyone--resident or non-resident alike and the club is an integral part of the State of Wyoming Historical Society.

As member’s often say, “The Future depends on the Past!”
