The season has come to an end for the B teams of Thermopolis Middle School as they had their tournament last Saturday.
The seventh grade B team traveled to Lander and came home with three wins, topping Worland 19-18, Powell 25-22 and Lander 27-6.
Kali Simeral had the high points against Worland with eight, against Powell with 17 points and against Lander, too, with 13 points.
Grayce Sharp and Waikeli Balstad also contributed points for the seventh grade team.
On the eighth grade side, the team went to Cody for their tournament, coming home with a 1-2 record.
The girls fell to Cody 13-25 and Powell 20-26, but came out winners against Riverton, 18-6.
Kadance Bowman was the top scorer against Cody with seven points and against Riverton with eight points. High scorer against Powell was Kiyah Oliver with 11 points.
Kaia Galovich, Kori Linton and Riley O’Brien also contributed points over the weekend.
“Throughout the whole season both of these teams played aggressive and showed a tremendous amount of heart,” coach Ashley Cleare said. “Each player improved so much and gained confidence in their skills.
“It was amazing to watch them as they scored a basket for the first time, made a steal, or even sank a half-court shot.”
The A teams will be having their tournaments this Saturday to finish out their season. Eighth grade will be in Worland and the seventh graders will be at home.
