Bobcats head to semifinals

November 7, 2019

With a big 49-14 win, the Bobcats busted through the Wyoming High School State Quarterfinals by defeating the Lyman Eagles last Friday.

Coach Matt McPhie said, “The team played good aggressive, physical football. We took care of the ball, we limited the big play from our opponent, and in the end that was enough to secure the victory.

“Offensively the Bobcat team was led by junior Logan Cole and senior Blake Williams. Cole had 160 yards and two touchdowns. Williams added 122 yards to go along with his pair of touchdowns.

“Duder Harvey handled the QB duties with precision. Harvey threw for 126 yards and added 53 yards rushing. Jase Longwell and Roedy Farrell also added rushing touchdowns in the contest.

“On the defensive side of the ball, the team played good, sound football. Team Bobcat scored their first defensive touchdown of the season when Jaxon Jensen intercepted a ball for a pick six in the first half.

“The defensive line played well for us. Matthew Daniels, Remington Ferree, Jarron Mortimore, Logan Shumway and Bubba Bowman led the way. Blake Williams added some great coverage to his list of feats on the night.”

The team moves on to the state semifinals, playing Buffalo Friday evening at Buffalo. Kickoff is 6 p.m.
