EMT classes begin Monday

October 31, 2019

Those interested in helping the community and expanding their knowledge can sign up for EMT classes, which will begin Nov. 4

Jim Lash, who will be the primary instructor for the classes, said they will be Mondays and Thursdays from 6-10 p.m., and occasionally on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Classes will typically be at the Thermopolis Fire Hall, though could also be at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital.

Lash added the end goal for those who take the class is to become state-certified emergency medical technicians. Classes will have plenty of information, but also hands on training. Following the classes, which run through April, there will be a state written exam and state practical exam.

Lash said this is an opportunity to help people in the community. For more information or to sign up for the classes, call 921-1423.
