Get your favorite chili recipe fine tuned

Dig out grandma’s chili recipe and get ready for the annual Chili Cook Off, sponsored by the FFA Alumni.

The cook off will be held on August 1 at 5 p.m. in the multi-purpose building at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds.

You can either create your masterpiece at home and bring it in, or let everyone see the magic in the making by doing your cooking right there. Be sure to bring whatever extras go best with your chili, whether its onions, cheese, chips or whatever, but the FFA Alumni will provide bowls and spoons.

There will be prizes for the winners of the best red chili, green chili and the people’s choice chili.

You must register on or before July 31 to be included in the contest, and there is no entry fee to participate.

Chili connoisseurs may come sample all the chili they would like for just $8 with unlimited refills and watermelon for desert.

Feel free to stay and watch the beef show afterwards at 6 p.m.
