More than 100 vehicles at car show

The Hot Spot Car Rally this past weekend saw a total 111 vehicles registered and the Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department flying the U.S. flag high.

Awards and winners from the show include:

People's Choice: Jenni Cook of Thermopolis, 1946 Olds Series 66

Off-Road: Johnny Dorman of Thermopolis, 1978 Jeep CJ5

Motorcycle: Gage Maser of Thermopolis, 2003 Harley Davidson Softail Deuce

Rat Rod: Dave Marlatt of Riverton, 1929 Chevy Sedan

Street Rod: Shane McKinny of Lovell, 1926 Ford Model T

Truck: Rex Williams of Otto, Wyo., 1957 GMC 100 Truck

Special Interest: David Burroughs of Winnemucca, Nev., 1964 Ford Club Wagon and Trailer

Muscle Car: Gary Johnson of Cody, 1969 Chevy SS Camaro

Vintage Car: Mel and Patty Treanor of Worland, 1955 Hudson Terraplane

Classic Car: Gary Mitchell of Worland, 1965 Chevy Corvette

Modern Vehicle: Forrest Coleman-Weisz of Thermopolis, 2006 Pontiac GTO

The entrant with the high hand during the poker run was Justin Cowger, who managed to get five aces. Low had went to Troy Olsen with a king high jack. There were a total 76 poker hands.

A jacket and pedal car were also given away, with Carnell Deere winning the jacket and Lindsay Shaw winning the car.
