First Outdoor Day successful

The Hot City Outdoor Alliance and Hot Springs State Park hosted the Hot City Outdoor Day last Saturday, and despite some wet and chilly weather, they had a great turnout for their first event.

Thirty-six people from Thermopolis, Worland, Sheridan, Ten Sleep, Lovell and even Billings participated in the activities that included canoeing and kayaking, biking, rock climbing, fly fishing, horse packing, archery, GPS and bear awareness.

Participants ranged in age from 21-70 years old, some with a lot of outdoor experience, some just trying out something for the very first time.

Thrilled with the number of people who participated and volunteered their time, they have already started planning for another Outdoor Day for next year. If you have any ideas on things you would like to see them include, please contact the Chamber of Commerce at 864-3192.
