Community awards

The Thermopolis Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce celebrated their 100th year last Saturday at their banquet at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds.

Chamber Executive Director MeriAnn Rush said Saturday's event was the largest they've had with 222 tickets sold for the evening.

The night started out with games for all, followed by dinner and then the featured speaker of the night, Craig Johnson, the writer of the Longmire series, who was very entertaining, recounting his travels and missteps through life.

The culmination of the night was the awarding of recognition for Business of the Year, which went to Jadeco, Inc., Non-Profit of the Year which was received by Holy Trinity Episcopal Church for their outreach programs, Citizen of the Year was awarded to Jim Lash, the President's Award to Jen Fisher and the Volunteer of the Year Award was given to Tawna McQueen and Shurie Scheel.
