Wrestlers perform well

Plenty of wrestlers hit the mats on March 2, with members of the Thermopolis Wrestling Club competing at the North Big Horn Folkstyle and Freestyle tournaments, and high school wrestlers hitting the Wyoming Amateur Wrestling Association Junior State Greco and Junior and Female Junior State Freestyle tournaments.

North Big Horn Freestyle Tournament

In 6U 37-40, Sawyer Wilson placed third and scored 8.5 team points. Wilson of Thermopolis Wrestling Club won by a 10-0 tech fall over Adalyn Waltjen of North Big Horn Rams in Round 1, and lost by a 13-3 tech fall to Archer Wenzel of Powell Wrestling Club in Round 2 and by a 10-0 tech fall to Rowdee Goolsbey of Powell Wrestling Club in Round 3.

In 8U 62, Jesalyn Blair received a bye in Championship Round 1, lost by a 1:05 fall to Auzzy Carter of Powell Wrestling Club in the Quarterfinal, received a bye in Consolation Round 2 and lost by a 10-0 tech fall to Reese Ouellette of Powell Wrestling Club

In 10U 63, Dyllan Myers placed first and has scored six team points. Myers won by forfeit over Gabe Leighton of Powell Wrestling Club in Round 1 and by forfeit over Leighton in Round 2.

In 12U 78, Mack Buckner placed second and scored 1.5 team points. Buckner lost by a 12-2 tech fall to Gabe Grant of Cody Wrestling Club in Round 1, won by a 13-1 tech fall over Grant in Round 2 and lost by a 3:09 fall to Grant in Round 3.

In 12U 80-83, Colter Price placed second and scored 3.5 team points. Price los tby a 10-0 tech fall to Loomis Alexander of Worland Wrestling Club in Round 1 and won by a 10-0 tech fall over Kort Sorensen of Cody Wrestling Club

In 14U 90-96, Dalton Price placed first and scored 19 team points. Price won by a 10-0 tech fall over Rudy Hall of North Big Horn Rams in Round 1, by a 10-0 tech fall over Tillman Burns of Worland Wrestling Club in Round 2 and by a 1:27 fall over Cody Seifert of Powell Wrestling Club in Round 3.

In 6U 37, Aksel Polson placed second and scored 12 team points. In the same division, Brayli Price lost by a 9-2 decision to Dax Mangus of North Big Horn Rams in Championship Round 1 and received a bye in Consolation Round 1.

In 8U 62, Jesalyn Blair received a bye in Championship Round 1, and lost by a 58-second fall to Auzzy Carter of Powell Wrestling Club in the Quarterfinal and by a 13-6 decision to Lucas Eaton of Powell Wrestling Club in Consolation Round 2.

10U 53-56, Jack Toth placed fifth. Toth lost by a 17-5 major decision to Keller Dehmel of Ten Sleep Hyattville Scrappers in Round 1, by a 12-6 decision to Talon Grau of Powell Wrestling Club in Round 2, by a 26-second fall to Stetson Starbuck of Ten Sleep Hyattville Scrappers in Round 4 and by a 1:50 fall to Wesley Dunnam of Cody Wrestling Club in Round 5.

In 10U 63, Dyllan Myers placed first and scored 25 team points. In 10U 71, Chloee Owsley placed second and scored 16 team points. Also in 10U 71 Christian Seidel lost by a 1:39 fall to Brayden Benander of Powell Wrestling Club in the Quarterfinal and by a 10-6 decision to Joseph Christman of Ten Sleep Hyattville Scrappers in Consolation Round 1.

In 14U 136-149 Kailey Allen placed second. Allen lost by a two-minute fall to Keenan Wenzel of Powell Wrestling Club in Round 1 and by a 7-3 decision to Wenzel in Round 2.
