HS State Park recognized

A salute to our Bobcat winter sportsOf course we here in Thermopolis and the Big Horn Basin know how nice Hot Springs State Park is with its picnic areas, hot springs and colorful terraces, not to mention the Swinging Bridge.

Recently the park has gained some additional recognition with a mention in the March edition of Martha Stewart Living and the annual AAA travel guide.

In recent years, the park has become home to a series of summer concerts, and 2019’s schedule is set to include Two Tracks on June 20, High Country Cowboys on July 9, and Jimmy Keith and The Hateful 8 on Aug. 24.

Hot Springs State Park Superintendent Kevin Skates said the bath house within the park averages about 30,000 visitor per year from more than 30 countries. The temperature, he noted, is kept at 104 degrees and the facility underwent an update to its HVAC system this past year.
