On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Clarification

The Bighorn Bowhunters will host shoots at the fair building on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

12:54 a.m. Report of erratic driving in the canyon. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

Thursday, Dec. 6

12:10 p.m. Complainant reported vandalism at a residence south of town.

5:06 p.m. Report of shoplifting. A subject was cited.

7:29 p.m. Second report of shoplifting at the same business. A subject was cited.

Friday, Dec. 7

5:07 p.m. Report of an accident, in which a vehicle left the road after the driver swerved to miss a deer.

Saturday, Dec. 8

4:56 p.m. Deputy assisted fire and EMS with an accident by Red Lane.

Sunday, Dec. 9

8:32 a.m. Report of vandalism at a residence.

1:58 p.m. Complaint of a vehicle speeding and not passing safely. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

Monday, Dec. 10

12:20 a.m. While on patrol, a deputy observed a vehicle with Natasha S. Kornder, who had an active warrant from Fremont County, and she was taken into custody.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

1:33 p.m. Reporting party brought in a found bag containing a glass pipe.

3:02 p.m. Accident in which a driver hit a vehicle in a parking lot.

9:29 p.m. Report of a driver veering into a snowbank and becoming stuck. The vehicle was gone prior to the officer’s arrival.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

10:12 a.m. Report of vandalism to a vehicle. A tire was slashed with an unknown object.

10:55 a.m. Complainant reported fraudulent activity involving a vulnerable adult in Casper. The caller was referred to the Casper Police Department.

11:06 a.m. Report of a vehicle blocking a driveway. The vehicle was gone prior to the officer’s arrival.

4:45 p.m. Report of a lost purse.

Thursday, Dec. 6

7:34 p.m. Following a traffic stop, the driver was cited for registration and no driver’s license.

Friday, Dec. 7

11:45 a.m. Report of mail fraud, in which the complainant received a letter promising entitlement to a large sum of money.

7:19 An officer provided periodic traffic control for several people leaving the auditorium.

Saturday, Dec. 8

9:34 p.m. Report of an accident in a parking lot. There were no injuries.

7:39 p.m. Accident involving a vehicle backing into another. There were no injuries.

Sunday, Dec. 9

12:39 p.m. Report of drugs found in a newly rented storage unit. The drugs were turned over to police for disposal.

11:02 p.m. Following a traffic stop, a driver was cited for possession of marijuana.

4:53 p.m. Report of a semi parked illegally in front of a business. The driver was contacted and moved the truck.

Circuit court

Hollie N. Smith was found guilty of driving under suspension and no light on rear license plate, and was sentenced to one day in jail. Fees and fines are $550.

Carrie A. Creager was found guilty of shoplifting under $1,000 and was sentenced to 30 days in jail.
