Cuboree this weekend

This weekend, Thermopolis will be hosting the first annual Cuboree, sponsored by the Greater Wyoming Council for scouting.

Boys and girls between the ages of five and 10-years old are invited to join Cub Scout Pack 5053 and attend the Cuboree in Hot Springs State Park from Friday, Sept. 14 through Sunday, Sept. 16.

Things will kick off with check in at 5 p.m. and setting up camp and then a campfire program at 8 p.m.

There will be breakfast at 7 a.m. on Saturday followed by shooting sports, skill stations, camp-wide games and dutch oven cooking as well as free time for the scouts to enjoy canoeing on the ponds, hiking, trips to the dinosaur museum and fishing.

The council will have a trading post set up to purchase scouting gear such as books and uniforms as well as camping gear.
