Bath house closing for repairs

Those looking to take in a soak at the Hot Springs State Park Bath House next week will have to wait, as the building will be closed for construction Sept. 10-14.

Park Superintendent Kevin Skates said the entire HVAC system needs replaced and workers will have to be in the roof and in the locker rooms, so closing the building is much simpler than trying to have the work done around visitors.

Skates noted it has been at least 20 years since the system needed replacing, and the mineral air at the bath house can be awfully hard on electrical equipment.
