On the Record for Aug. 9

On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Clarifications

Though the water service at a local business was interrupted twice due to the water line project along Fifth Street, it was not due to the service line being struck. However, old pipes were found along the project site and in order to address them the main has to be shut off, which interrupted service at the business.

In last week’s story about the Best Western Plus Plaza building, it should be noted that, from 1959-1989, the building was operated by three couples — Jack and Millie Hausauer, John and Gale Hausauer, and Eddie and Vera Hausauer.
