On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Corrections

In last week’s Independent Record Brogan Little was incorrectly identified as his brother Blevins.

The hotel that used to be on the corner of Sixth and Broadway was the Emery. The Carter Hotel was in Hot Springs State Park.

Tuesday, July 17

12:19 p.m. A found check wallet was returned to its owner.

Wednesday, July 18

4:43 p.m. Report of juveniles running along the street. Their parents were contacted and said they would speak to the kids.

Friday, July 20

2:35 p.m. A subject was cited for no proof of insurance.

Saturday, July 21

11:53 a.m. Jeremy G. Merriam was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.

8:51 p.m. Jamie M. Brower was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.

Sunday, July 22

5:17 p.m. Search and Rescue was called out to take people off the river.

Tuesday, July 17

12:46 p.m. Following a traffic stop, a subject was cited for possession of marijuana.

5:04 p.m. Report of panhandling. The reported subjects were contacted and told they were in violation of the town ordinance, and they agreed not to solicit any further.

9:45 p.m. An officer assisted a semi driver with securing a shifting cargo load.

Wednesday, July 18

9:16 a.m. Trisha M. Damiano was arrested on an alleged probation violation.

12:39 p.m. A subject was injured in a two vehicle accident, and was transported by another party to the hospital.

7:53 p.m. REDDI report, though the officer determined the driver was not intoxicated.

Thursday, July 19

12 p.m. Randall R. Harrison was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.

Friday, July 20

9:11 a.m. Report of two dogs fighting. The owner said he would take care of it.

9:37 a.m. Complainant reported a juvenile walking around a job site. The juvenile’s mother was located and the two were reunited.

Saturday, July 21

12:49 a.m. Daryl R. Moss was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.

5:58 p.m. Report of a found checkbook and cell phone.

9:55 p.m. Complainant reported overhearing about an underage party. The report was unfounded.

Sunday, July 22

9:21 a.m. Report of a found set of keys.

1:57 p.m. Complaint of property damage to a fence. There was no sign of criminal activity.

7:53 p.m. During a routine traffic stop, the officer discovered the driver had marijuana and he was cited.

Monday, July 23

8:33 a.m. Following a dispute at the dog park, a subject was cited for breach of peace.

Births

Elijah Michael Long was born Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Makala Pedersen and Timothy Long.

He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long.

Grandparents are Craig and Michele Redland and Denny and Michael Long.

Arrow Lynn Mayo was born Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Rachel Jones and Kyler Mayo.

She weighed 7 pounds and was 20.5 inches long.

Grandparents are Crystal Stone, David Jones, Eric Jones, Bill Mayo, Charla Mayo and the late Michelle Mayo.

Circuit court

Jason L. Christofferson was found guilty of third-offense driving under the influence and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 150 days suspension and two years supervised probation. Fees and fines are $1,000.

Adrienne M. Vasquez was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 45 days in jail with 45 days suspension and six months supervised probation. Fees and fines are $300.

Megan Lathrop was found guilty of two counts of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 87 days suspension and one year supervised probation. Fees and fines are $510.

Jason Krueger was found guilty of second-offense domestic battery and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 121 days suspension. Fees and fines are $205.

Zacheriah P. Siek was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and driving under suspension, and was sentenced to 10 days in jail with eight days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $1,010.

Katie A. Sanford was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 10 days in jail with six days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $455.
