Last Friday, Hot Springs County High School students received awards for academic excellence, most growth and grit and perseverance in various subjects.

Awards were also presented to Sara McLendon, Michael Springer, Jaydon Christiansen and Bree Lanik, who were named E3 Plus Readers for the second semester, for reading the highest number of pages. McLendon read an estimated 5,604 pages, 227 per week; Springer read an estimated 3,167 pages, 197 pages per week; Christiansen read 2,835 an estimated 2,835 pages, 212 per week; and Lanik read an estimated 2,749 pages, 172 per week.
