Funds generated for Gymkhana

Saturday night at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds, the Thermopolis Gymkhana Series hosted their Bucks for Buckaroos event and raised about $1,500 that will go to year-end awards for this year’s Gymkhana series.

Amber Armajo stated the event was a huge success and expressed her appreciation to the community for their support of the program. This year’s series dates will be May 5, June 3, July 6, Aug. 10 and Sept. 15.

In addition to the chili feed and silent auction at the Buckaroos event, there was also a shorty team roping jackpot and a stick horse barrel racing jackpot, with PeeWee (six and under), Youth (ages 7-14) and Open (14 and older) in each.

Results in order of finish are:

Stick Horse PeeWee: Cooper Agar, Emma Dean, Emma Dean and Tylee Agar.

Stick Horse Youth: Kamryn Farrell and Kenzie Buckner.

Dummy Roping PeeWee: Emma Dean and Casen Eckley/Corbin Dean.

Dummy Roping Youth: Garret Titmus/Hoyt Peil, Hoyt Peil/Garrett Titmus, Bridger Peil/Garrett Titmus and Rylee Agar/Taylor Agar.

Dummy Roping Open: Nate Myers/Haze Buckner, Dawn Peil/Brad Peil, Koy Myers/Haze Buckner and Koy Myers/Tyelynn Jensen.
