Richard Damron

Richard Edward Damron, 70, passed away at home on January 6, 2018, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on January 12, 1947, in Louisiana, Mo., the son of Norman and Verna Mae (Koester) Damron.

Richard attended school in Missouri, North Dakota, and Wyoming. He was employed by Bridger Coal Company for many years as a heavy equipment operator. He then worked for UPS in Rock Springs and Evanston, and later for Seward Trucking Company.

Richard was known for his stubbornness, his wit, his love of babies and dogs, and of course pickles. He loved fishing with his dad and his uncle. He was an avid Green Bay Packer's fan, but loved all sports and would watch any televised event. Even though he was extremely hard-headed and insisted on doing things his way, he also liked to joke and kid around with everyone he knew.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Pamela (Dunn) Damron; daughters, Kerry (Tucker) Downs of Rock Springs and Tammy (Jeff Graeber) Hunt of Laurel, Mont .; sons, Darin (Kathy) Damron of Evanston and Douglas (Sara) Fish of Lyman; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Patrick (Tiffany) Marshall and daughter Karly of Rock Springs, Jessica (Steve) VanValkenburg and son Devon of Rock Springs, Amanda Damron of Evanston, Allycia (Eric Braunberger) Durham and sons Lukas and Talon of Miles City, Mont., Krystal Durham and children Zebediah, Johnathan, Tieranney, and Astraea of Laurel, Mont., Roy Durham of Laurel, Mont .; Jacob, Ethan, and Anthony Graeber of Laurel, Mont .; Shealyn (Patrick) Even of Rock Springs, and Tanner (Amanda Fleck) Downs and children Xaiden, Madison, and Maxton of Rock Springs; brother, Darrell Damron of Meridian, Idaho; and sister, Debra Davenport of Cody, Wyo.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and infant granddaughter, Willow Dawn Lucille Maez Fish.

After cremation, a service for friends and family will be held on January 13 at 1 p.m. at Depot Square, 920 Front Street, Evanston.
