On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, Dec. 26

4:40 a.m. Report of a one-vehicle accident on Black Mountain Road. The driver lost control and the vehicle flipped, but there were no injuries.

9:25 p.m. Report of multiple doors being open on a property on Skelton Road. A subject who had been watching the property while the owners were away did not see who opened the doors.

Wednesday, Dec. 27

3:44 p.m. Complainant reported someone was trespassing on Skelton Road. The suspect was not on private property.

4:21 p.m. Male subject reported lost guns on Buffalo Creek. The guns were later found and returned to the owner.

8:26 p.m. Report of a vehicle sliding off East River Road. There were no injuries and no damage to the vehicle, though a two truck was called to get it back on the road.

Thursday, Dec. 28

1:17 p.m. Report of a mountain lion killed on private property in the East Cottonwood area. The information was passed on to Game and Fish.

Saturday, Dec. 30

3:22 p.m. Report of a vehicle sliding off the road eight miles north of town on Highway 20. The vehicle could not be located.

Sunday, Dec. 31

7:20 p.m. Report of a semi broken down at mile marker 135 on Highway 20. Deputies and police officers provided traffic control, and the semi was later moved.

Monday, Jan. 3

5:55 p.m. Report of a vehicle sliding off the road in the buffalo pasture. The driver stated he lost control on black ice and slid off.

Tuesday, Dec. 26

3:11 p.m. Complainant reported there was a post on Facebook she felt was about her. She was advised to block the account.

3:51 p.m. A juvenile female driving a vehicle was stopped. During the stop, the officer detected the smell of marijuana and found a pipe in the vehicle. The juvenile was turned over to her father.

Wednesday, Dec. 27

11:13 a.m. Two hunters stuck in a vehicle in the snow were located by a farmer. The hunters were given a ride to town and later returned to get the vehicle.

4:10 p.m. Complainant reported his truck was taken from behind the hospital. Following an interview with the complainant, the truck was returned back to the parking spot. A new employee had been told to take a vehicle, as the keys were in it, and took the wrong vehicle.

Thursday, Dec. 28

6:37 p.m. Report of a fight at a hotel. It was determined an male and a female were fighting over a TV show to watch, and the female called the police.

Friday, Dec. 29

5:43 p.m. An officer stopped a vehicle for an unfastened license plate and found the driver had a suspended license and was not in compliance with an interlock device. The driver was cited for driving under suspension.

5:52 p.m. Juveniles left home after finding their parents’ meth pipe and stayed with other family members.

Saturday, Dec. 30

12:10 p.m. Working with the H.O.P.E. Agency, officers were able to get a juvenile from Florida to where she belonged.

4:08 p.m. REDDI report, though the suspect vehicle was stopped and the officer determined the driver was not intoxicated.

6:19 p.m. Report of the hospital-owned snowplow striking an employee’s vehicle.

Sunday, Dec. 31

10:40 p.m. Two male subjects brought alcohol to a hotel room where a juvenile was. Gregory M. Wallace and Jonathon I. Pulido were both arrested for alleged minor in possession and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Monday, Jan. 1

3:15 a.m. A hotel clerk reported disruptive guests. The guests were told to call it an evening and keep it down or else they would be removed from the hotel.

Order Quieting Title: A & C Properties Limited Partnership is granted title to a tract of land in Lot 3, Section 1, Township 42 North, Range 95 West of the Sixth Principal Meridian.

Warranty Deed: Doris Hurlburt to Joel Hurlburt as a tenant in common with Colleen Hanson and Wayne Hanson, the West Half of the Northwest Quarter and the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter, Section 34, Township 45 North, Range 101 West of the Sixth Principal Meridian.

Warranty Deed: Stephanie Wright to Charles Towers, Lot 5, Block 1, Wild Horse Estates, Town of East Thermopolis.

Quitclaim Deed: Charles Towers to the Charles Towers, Trustee of the Charles E. Towers Revocable Trust, Lot 5, Block 1, Wild Horse Estates, Town of East Thermopolis.

Circuit court

Seth R. White was found guilty of driving under the influence, .08 percent or more, exceed 30 miles per hour in urban district and no seat belt. Fees and fines are $855.

Jesse A. Sovey was found guilty of two counts of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to one year in jail with one year suspended and one year supervised probation. Fees and fines are $1,410.

Mikki Martinez was found guilty of breach of peace and was sentenced to 15 days in jail with 15 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $205.
