Monte 'Scott' Johnson

Monte "Scott" Johnson, 67, passed away on December 23, 2017.

Scott was born June 1, 1950, to Ira and Jeannette Johnson in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a Thermopolis High School graduate. He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. Scott worked in the student union as a custodian for four years then spent 30 plus years with Information Technology at the University of Wyoming-retiring in 2010. Scott was a loving and caring father, grandfather and husband.

Scott loved gardening, fishing, woodworking, and all plants. In the past year he was working on growing grapes in Laramie. His last wish was to watch the Cowboy's win in the Bowl game. We had a football party in ICU watching the game.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline Johnson, just 5 days short of 42 years; daughters, Lainiel (Ray) Johnson of Laramie and Chandra (Brandon) Jordan of Sheridan; grandchildren, Leah Urquhart, Samantha Johnson, Kameran Johnson and Talon Jordan; brothers, Mathew (Nancy) Johnson of Casper and Ira (Brenda) Johnson; nieces, Lindsey (Jason) Malone, Holly (Tino) Wilson, Jennifer (Niccolo) Johnson, Michelle and Tara Johnson; nephew, Shawn Johnson; and many great-nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Dec. 30 at the Laramie VFW, 2142 E. Garfield from 1-3 p.m.
