Mavis Cooper

Mavis Elva Cooper, 98, passed away on October 28, 2017, at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Mavis was born in Whitmore Calif., on August 25, 1919, to Albert and Ivy Elva (Pottle) Gifford.

Mavis loved the mountains, made the best pies and was a huge fan of Merle Haggard. The most important aspect of her life was her family. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Lewis of Cheyenne, Francis Simic of Thermopolis and Donald Cooper of Southwick, Idaho; six grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; great-grandchild, Reilly Schwann; brother, Elton Hufford; and sister, Hazel Bartholomew.

Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service was held on November 1 in Thermopolis. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Chrome, Calif., where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
