Trial scheduled in theft case

Among the proceedings in District Court Monday, there was a brief pre-trial conference in judge’s chambers regarding a case against Lola Vialpando. Initially charged with 10 counts of felony forgery, two counts of felony theft and one count of felony larceny, Vialpando was later charged with an additional seven counts of forgery and three counts of theft, for a total of 23 charges.

Charges allege between December of 2010 and July of 2016 Vialpando altered bank statements at her former employer’s, altered account statements, used company credit cards to make over 300 online and local purchases, forged checks and performed online and mobile transfers from her employer to satisfy personal debt. The alleged actions resulted in the company losing over $250,000.

Trial for Vialpando is scheduled for Nov. 13 and expected to take two weeks.

Also in District Court, Tamera Rollins pleaded not guilty to taking property over $1,000. The charge stems from an Aug. 14 incident in which Rollins was allegedly in possession of a stolen vehicle.

Rollins is currently in custody on a $20,000 cash bond, and her trial is expected to take four days, though no date has been set.

Autumn Boyle pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of meth. The charges stem from an alleged March 6 incident.

Boyle was recently furloughed in a separate case so she could seek treatment, and that same condition applies to her bond in this case. Trial is expected to take three days, and no date has been set.

Timothy Ott pleaded not guilty of possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense. The charge alleges he was in possession of marijuana on Aug. 13. Though in custody on a $2,500 cash bond, that was modified to a signature bond Monday and it was indicated Ott could be released that afternoon.

Trial for Ott is expected to take two days, and no date has been set.
