Fireworks showing support of our youths not appreciated by all

How ‘bout them Bobcats? The Thermopolis Middle School football team finished 7 and 0 this season. Wow what a season. I would like to thank all of the kids for their hard work and dedication for pulling together to make a winning team. The coaches did an amazing job with these kids throughout the season. The support that these kids got from family and friends was fantastic.

When they were 4 and 0 and started playing on their home field, we decided we would show our support during the home games. We would fire a type of firework called a salute, if they scored a touchdown. We had permission from the State Park to use their facility to shoot the fireworks from. We had support from the fire department, the coaches and athletics director. The police department was notified prior to each game. We had notifications on social media that we were shooting fireworks.

But somebody complained and we were told not to shoot any more fireworks off during the last two games of the season. We were advised that if the practice of shooting fireworks off when our team scores is to continue, we would need to notify the residents of our intentions. This is the first notification.

I have a suggestion for the person that complained. If the sounds of supporting our kids bothers you that much, go have breakfast or lunch in Worland that morning. If you would like my opinion, I would gladly tell you where to go. GO BOBCATS.
