Put your best foot forward

Growing up we were always told to “put your best foot forward.” Today’s generation hears “dress for the job you want.” Both phrases should be on our minds as we prepare for the influx of visitors coming to Hot Springs County in about three weeks.

If these visitors have a great time in Thermopolis while they’re here, chances are they will return and of course, will be telling their friends about this great little town in the middle of Wyoming.

With that in mind, it would be a good time to start putting our best foot forward.

Let’s get out there and wash our windows and sweep our sidewalks. Pull a few weeds. Put a smile on your face. I’m sure the town will have their street sweepers out taking care of the big stuff, too.

Brush up on where things are. Can you give directions to the Dinosaur Center or the Chamber of Commerce? If they’re looking for the best hamburger in town, where will you send them?

Our downtown area is going to be filled with people looking for this or that and our businesses are sure to know the answers, but as citizens, we need to be patient and helpful, too.

We are an amazing place to visit with some of the most caring and generous people out there. Let’s help these folks get the most out of their visit here!
