On the Record policy

Friday, January 6

6:50 a.m. Response to an alarm, which later turned out to be false, in the 200 block of East Arapahoe.

Saturday, January 7

6:18 p.m. Structure fire in the 300 block of South Eighth.

Sheriff’s office

Wednesday, January 4

6:50 a.m. Report of a vehicle that slid off the road. The deputy reported there were no injuries, and a tire had blown out on the vehicle.

3:39 p.m. Report of a dog in the buffalo pasture. The dog was claimed by the owner.

Thursday, January 5

12:32 p.m. Vehicle backed into another in the 400 block of Broadway.

2:46 p.m. Accident on Highway 20 south of Grandview occurred when a vehicle slid onto the highway due to road conditions, and was struck by another vehicle.

6:13 p.m. Report of a subject wearing all black hitchhiking in the area around Wedding of the Waters. The subject could not be located.

Friday, January 6

3:35 p.m. One-vehicle accident at RFN 159 on Highway 20 South, in which the driver‘s vehicle lost traction. The vehicle began to fishtail and the driver over corrected. The vehicle went off the road and struck a road sign.

Saturday, January 7

6:18 p.m. Request for assistance at Red Lane. Caller later stated the issue was under control and a deputy was not needed.

2:32 p.m. Accident on Owl Creek. A vehicle slowed and signalled to turn, and the vehicle following was unable to stop and collided.

Sunday, January 8

12:49 p.m. A call was received regarding a vehicle stuck in the buffalo pasture. The driver was believed to be intoxicated. Jennifer Shiers was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.

Police department

Tuesday, January 3

8:03 a.m. Dispute between two parties resulted in a broken window on a vehicle. One of the parties called later and said the matter was being handled.

2:08 p.m. Report of a five-year-old that darted into the traffic lane in the 500 block of Broadway and was struck by a vehicle that couldn’t stop due to road conditions. The child’s parents reported he was OK, but the driver reported the incident for informational purposes.

Wednesday, January 4

3:09 a.m. Call received about a hotel guest who was causing a disturbance, being loud and running naked through the halls. Officers later apprehended the subject, identified as Allan Heuer, and arrested him for interference.

12:16 p.m. Report of a beet truck stuck on hospital hill blocking traffic.

Thursday, January 5

11:52 a.m. A hotel guest found someone had broken into his vehicle and stolen items including water bottles and a blanket. There was no sign of forced entry.

1:44 p.m. Report of a property damage accident. Both subjects left the scene, and the incident is under investigation.

3:03 p.m. Report of a dog at large that was growling at others and the responding officer. The owner was contacted and notified about the dog being aggressive.

Friday, January 6

2:59 p.m. Domestic dispute between people attending a funeral. The situation was resolved.

Saturday, January 7

9:48 a.m. Report of a hit and run accident. The suspect vehicle was located and the driver, Gerald Frazer Jr., was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.

5:55 p.m. Report of a dog tied to a gate that appeared to have no food or shelter. The dog was in good health, and the owner stated he was only gone for a short time.

Sunday, January 8

10:32 p.m. REDDI report on a vehicle in which the occupants appeared intoxicated. An officer made contact, and there were no intoxicated subjects.

Monday, January 9

11:03 a.m. Report of a break in at an empty trailer. The matter was later deemed a civil issue.

9:15 p.m. Complainant reported seeing someone they believed to be a wanted subject. Neither the subject nor a suspect vehicle was located.

Circuit court

A case against Joshua Hoyer was bound over to District Court. Hoyer is charged with alleged failure to register as a sex offender.

Laura Hanson was found guilty of driving under the influence and was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 87 days suspension and one year unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $690.

Reed McMillan was found guilty of driving with a suspended license and was sentenced to 45 days in jail with 38 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $240.
