Golfers set new personal records at Sheridan

Bobcat golfers headed to Sheridan last weekend. Kaylee Smith set a new personal record on the second day, while Jake Maksin set a new personal record for two days. The team had top ten finishers and third overall for the boys, top 3A team.

Thermopolis High School girls placed 7th overall and Thermopolis High School boys placed third overall.

“Coming into a mostly 4A field, we set the goal of being the top performing 3A team,” Coach Jake Smith said.

“We have had trouble playing to our potential and were hoping to break that pattern.”

Smith said the first day went fairly well.

“Not all players posted scores they were happy with, but they were making good decisions and recovered well from problem holes,” he said. “Day two was hot and muggy, making all that walking a real task. All in all we matched our best one day score for the season and posted our best two day scores.”

Scores for Thermopolis Boys are as follows: Hudson Roling – 72-79, total 156; Caleb DeCroo – 89-83, total 172; Jake Maksin – 82-83, total 165; Logan Bartholomew – 98-97, total 195; Will DeVries – 99-99, total 198; and Colton Dobbins – 94-96, total 190; Team score – 341-342-683.
