Wednesday, August 3

12:56 p.m. Grass fire at 788 Highway 20 North.

Monday, August 8

7:10 p.m. Grass fire at Deer Creek.

Sheriff’s department

Tuesday, August 2

5:13 p.m. Report of a tree blocking the road. Though the road is not maintained by the county, a deputy had a saw and was able to get most of the tree cleared.

Thursday, August 4

1:19 p.m. Caller reported the driver of a black truck flashed his headlights at her and asked where was the best place to store some equipment. She thought the incident was suspicious.

2:30 p.m. Caller reported a vehicle parked on a roadway was blocking access. As the road referenced is private, it is a civil matter.

8:04 p.m. Deputy assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol with a traffic stop.

Friday, August 5

9:14 p.m. A subject was reported as driving drunk. Though the subject, Joshua Nash, was found to be sober, he was arrested on a warrant from Washakie County and transported to the detention center to await pickup.

Saturday, August 6

12:20 p.m. Report of a calf out. Deputy put the calf back in a pasture.

5:05 p.m. Deputy assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol at an accident at mile marker 25 on Highway 120 West.

5:23 p.m. Report of a gas drive off. There was no description of the vehicle, but it was pulling a yellow boat.

Sunday, August 7

7:29 a.m. Report of a vehicle hitting an antelope. The animal was taken off the road.

11:58 a.m. A female subject called, wanting to have someone thrown off her property. She was told she would have to file the paperwork.

12:21 p.m. Report of bulls out. The animals were put back in pasture, and the owner was contacted.

7:29 p.m. Caller requested a deputy come out and visit with kids who are throwing rocks at the pageant.

8:27 p.m. Report of a family disturbance involving a drunken party. The caller hung up, but a follow-up is planned.

Police department

Tuesday, August 2

10:49 a.m. Report of a collision between a tractor trailer and a car. A State accident report was filed.

11:16 a.m. Call regarding a possible intoxicated male subject. The subject was in possession of an open container. The alcohol was poured out and the subject was warned.

2:41 p.m. Caller wanted a trespassing notice served on another party. However, the other subject does not live here.

3:53 p.m. As a result of high winds, a flatbed was blown into a traffic lane. The responding officer put the trailer back.

4:21 p.m. A tree in a yard was reported to have a large crack, caused by high winds. The property owner was contacted.

5:01 p.m. Report of kids allegedly getting into a trailer. There was no evidence, though the kids’ parents were contacted.

8:55 p.m. Report of a stolen bicycle. The bike is solid black with five thick spokes on the tires and no brakes.

Wednesday, August 3

10:08 a.m. Report of a lost wallet, which was later found by the owner.

11:08 a.m. Caller reported a vehicle driving erratically. The driver was contacted, advised of the allegation and cited for no insurance and no registration.

1:59 p.m. Nels Vicklund was arrested for alleged probation violation.

2:19 p.m. Report of a traffic accident on South Sixth. One vehicle was pulling out of an alley and struck the other, causing it to roll over. Drivers Doug Nichols and Carl Streumfa received minor injuries.

3:13 p.m. Report of a back window of a vehicle being broken with a rock. The owner of the vehicle reported it was an accident and declined prosecution.

Thursday, August 4

7:52 a.m. Complaint regarding commercial vehicles on C Avenue that appear to be exceeding the speed limit.

3:52 p.m. Caller reported a scam via text message. No money was ever exchanged.

5:51 p.m. Caller wanted a person trespassed from the property.

7 p.m. Caller was concerned nobody was taking car of a dog belonging to a person who was arrested. Arrangements have been made for the dog.

8:12 p.m. A white truck struck the overpass near the state park entrance.

Friday, August 5

12:34 a.m. Report of a loud party. When an officer responded to the area, it appeared quiet.

8:12 a.m. A cat was captured and taken to the veterinary clinic.

10:30 a.m. Report of credit card fraud. The caller reported the incident happened in Cheyenne, and was given the number for the Cheyenne Police Department.

10:44 a.m. Report of an abandoned backpack. The bag was actually a canvas basket, and it was disposed of.

4:26 p.m. Report of a dog in distress. An officer was unable to locate the animal.

7:49 p.m. Officer found two dogs at large. The animals later ran home, and the gate was locked. The owner stated the gate is regularly locked.

11:44 p.m. Report of juveniles messing with realtor signs. The kids were contacted and told to go home.

Saturday, June 6

1:14 p.m. Report of vehicles parked in handicapped spaces. Two of the three drivers apologized and moved their vehicles. The third was cited.

2:15 p.m. Loryjay Sun Rhodes was arrested for alleged public intoxication and for a Lincoln County warrant.

2:21 p.m. A cell phone was found, and was returned to its owner.

8:41 p.m. Report of a barking dog. Attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful, but the dog later calmed down.

Sunday, June 7

9:18 a.m. Caller wanted information regarding restraining orders.

1:39 p.m. A wallet was found.

4:06 p.m. Diane Axtell was arrested for alleged depriving owner of a use of vehicle.

6:54 p.m. Officer was dispatched to a report of verbal abuse. Upon arrival, the officer determined it was an instance of bullying.

10:57 p.m. Complaint of two vehicles exceeding the speed limit on the highway.

11 p.m. Report of kids in vehicles acting suspiciously, possibly stealing safety cones. No cones were missing, and the officer was unable to locate the vehicles.

Monday, June 8

1:39 a.m. Caller reported receiving harassing calls from another. Neither party could later be contacted.

6:43 a.m. Report of another missing wallet, lost in the state park.

8:23 a.m. Report of a missing cat. It was unknown if the animal was found.

9:16 a.m. Officer came across a broken down vehicle and escorted a subject to a service garage.

2:28 p.m. Someone found a wallet, and the information was put out to the owner to pick it up.

3:14 p.m. Caller was concerned about old beehives on a neighbors property, with bees living in them, due to a child’s allergies. The property owner was contacted to determine if he is keeping bees intentionally or if the hives can be removed.

3:16 p.m. Report of an elderly male who might need assistance. An officer contacted the subject, who did not have any issues.

4:09 p.m. Concern about a dog left in the back of truck with a topper. The windows were open, and the dog had water available.

5:05 p.m. Civil standby for a property owner who wanted to check a recently vacated rental.

6:27 p.m. Welfare check on a child here for visitation. Everything was OK.

7:14 p.m. Officer responded to a family dispute regarding power of attorney. The officer could not intervene without seeing the written power of attorney.

7:46 p.m. Caller believed there were some kids were left unattended. The people watching the kids was contacted, and everything was OK.

8:18 p.m. A found purse was reunited with its owner.

Adopt A Pet

The Hot Springs Veterinary Clinic currently has three female cats in need of homes, including one calico kitten, a gray young adult and a fuzzy black and white adult. The black and white adult does like her space. Stop by the clinic at 827 South Sixth for more information.
