Claudia Guertzgen

Claudia Davidson Guertzgen, 72, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital after a time of declining health.

Born August 9, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, she was the daughter of Harvey and Syble (Hudson) Davidson. The family moved to Hamilton Dome, Wyo., where Claudia attended grade school and graduated from Thermopolis High School.

She later moved to California where she was an Advertising Director for Disney Worldwide Services. On April 7, 1974, she married Melvin “Mick” Guertzgen in Norco, Calif. Moving to Thermopolis in 1982, Claudia purchased Loonie’s Bin, operating the business until retirement.

An avid PBR fan, she toured the bull riding events. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, restoring antique furniture and playing cards.

Survivors include her husband, Mick, of Thermopolis; son, Douglas Yauney of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif .; and four grandchildren.
