Farr presents sheep program at meeting

“Wyoming: The Sheepherder State” will be the next presentation at the Hot Sprigs County Historical Society meeting, Saturday, April 11 at the Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center.

The presentation will be by John D. Farr, tracing sheep from the time of the Three Wise Men following a star at Christmas to the present day, discussing in depth how and why Wyoming became a center for feeding lambs for market.

The only animal to provide a wool crop every year as well as a meat animal, Farr will tell how the sheep business boomed and busted as well as how the railroads were changed by trucking in the business.

The meeting is open to everyone and is free.
