    Thermopolis and a large part of Wyoming has scene record high temps this week as a heat wave hit that sent temperatures into the triple digits. On Monday, June 14 the recorded high in Thermopolis (according to the National Weather Service) was 101. On Tuesday, at press time (5 p.m.) the recorded high had hit 103.     Although Thermopolis was not included in a recent release by the National Weather Service of recent record breaking low temperatures, residents still know the bitter cold snap that hit Wyoming beginning last week did indeed include Hot Springs County.     Water levels in the Big Horn River south of Boysen Dam were increased again Tuesday, going up to 7,500 cubic feet per second. Emergency Management Coordinator Bill Gordon said the river should start reducing in speed after this increase. “The plan is 7,500 is as high as it goes,” Gordon said.     While March in Thermopolis usually resembles winter more than spring, this years temperatures were higher than the average. According to Chris Jones with the National Weather Service the average temperature for March this year was 43.4 degrees Fahrenheit. The average temperature is 40.2 degrees during the month of March.
