    According to Hot Springs County Clerk Rose DeSeyn, last week’s general election went smoothly. DeSeyn said the number of votes cast for this election were actually slightly down from the general election in 2016 with 2,588 votes this year compared to 2,644 actual votes in 2016. The number of mail in requests, however were much higher than the last presidential election with 1,041 requests for absentee ballots this year compared to just 432 in 2016.
