    Thermopolis Middle School's seventh and eighth grade basketball teams have been busy this past weekend, playing against Worland, Lovell, Cody and Powell. Eighth grade coach Ginger Ward said Worland's A team outscored the girls 7-29 in the first game.     The Hot Springs County Recreation District Turkey Hoop Shoot is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 16 at the armory. Students from second grade up to age 15 can participate, and the fee is a non-perishable food item that will be donated to the Holiday Baskets program. The shoot is made up of two timed competitions. On one end of the court, there are various places to stand, each worth a different amount of points for baskets made.     Hot Springs County High School held their Academic Achievement night on Monday, honoring those students who have lettered in academics. In order to earn their letter, students must appear on one of the three honor rolls for two consecutive semesters. At their last meeting, the group decided they wanted to help main street look festive for the holiday season and came up with a window decorating contest for all the businesses to participate in.     Thermopolis Middle School had a special event last week, organized by Becky Martinez’s Farm to School class to celebrate National Food Day. Montana has been doing “Crunch Time” in their schools for some time, but this is the first time Wyoming has joined in the fun. Students at TMS and across the state gathered at 2 p.m. on Oct. 24 to “crunch” some fresh fruits and veggies.
