    John and Jane Jeffs appeared before the Hot Springs County Planning Commission recently to request a variance of a road easement, a land use change and a preliminary subdivision plat to establish one six-acre lot with a remaining 56-acre property. The property in question is a place just under 63 acres at 1287 Jeffs Road. What they are asking to do is a simple one-lot subdivision of about six-acres which contains their residence.     Carl Lee Strumfa, 76, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019, while visiting friends in Kansas. Carl was born October 25, 1942, in Concordia, Kan., to Angeline and Melvin Strumfa. As a child his father was in the military and he lived in many places including Kansas and Japan. He attended Washburn University in Kansas earning a Criminal Justice degree in the early 80's. Three of our girls placed in the top 10, and all placed in the top 25.
