The Hot Springs County Commissioners met on Tuesday and were pleased to hear from County Assessor Dan Weber that a valuation change was made in the county’s favor in the amount of $15,224. Valkyrie Resources, LLC had been under assessed and a check was issued to the county in the above amount as a supplement. The second annual Wyoming Singer Songwriter Competition has concluded with a Thermopolis resident winning the title of overall champion. On Oct. 7 there was a residential fire reported at 2569 US Hwy 20 in Washakie County. Emergency services and law enforcement personnel from the Worland Fire Department, Hot Springs County Fire Department, Washakie County Ambulance, Wyoming Highway Patrol and Washakie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the location. Thermopolis law enforcement, the Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to a house fire at 217 South Eighth, the home of Call Whittaker, at about 4:15 Wednesday morning. Cross country high school and middle school teams competed at the Powell Invite last Friday. The Lady Bobcat volleyball teams had a really busy week last week with Senior Night last Thursday against Worland and then a quick trip to Glenrock on Saturday for out of town matches, too.
