    A non-binding resolution presented by the Hot Springs County Commissioners at their September 15 meeting led to lengthy discussion and an eventual tabling of the resolution.     Last week Hot Springs County School District (HSCSD) reported their first positive case of COVID-19 in a letter sent out to parents and guardians of Ralph Witters Elementary students. The letter from Superintendent of Schools Dustin Hunt, dated Thursday, Sept. 17, says that “an individual (s) within the school has been diagnosed with COVID-19.” Then on Sunday, Sept. 20, an email was sent out by Hot Springs County High School (HSCHS) Principal Breez Daniels stating “an indivdual (s) within HSCHS tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, Sept....

    At the Sept. 15 Thermopolis Town Council meeting there was scheduled to be a report on the Thermopolis Golf Course updates, but no representative was present.   • Travel and Tourism Board discuss Lodging Tax

    During the September Travel and Tourism meeting for September, Matt Hughes, Treasurer reported that he changed the format of the financial reports and reduced redundant work in order to aid efficiency and times saving measures. The board already receives data from their account at Koerwitz et al. and they no longer have to recreate the reports. Born May 14, 1942, in Flint, Mich., he was one of four children of Norman and Betty (Coon) Claypool. After graduating from high school, he served in the US Army Airborne. She was born on December 22, 1942, in Hillsdale, Mich., the daughter of Billie James and Donna (Fink) Houghtby. She married John G. Dunbar on July 23, 1961, in Cambria, Mich.     The Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA) announced that the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) has approved their plans for beginning basketball and wrestling on time.     A Pulled Pork Dinner and Cookie Jar Auction benefitting 22-year-old Tori Lynn Rollins will be held Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Hot Springs County Fair Building. Tori is the daughter of former Thermopolis residents Justin and Elaine Rollins. In July, she was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Synovial Sarcoma.
