Things became rather heated at the Hot Springs County Fair board meeting last week as a number of families attended, upset about some things that went on during the Hot Springs County Fair. One of the issues was overweight animals not being allowed in the ring for the final shows. Danny Lee Love, 64, passed away unexpectedly August 9, 2018, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital. Danny was born and raised in Thermopolis, Wyo., and except for a brief stint at Reda Pump, worked as a cowboy at area ranches until settling on the LU Ranch where he was the manager. Donald William Schoenberger, 94, of Thermopolis, Wyo., passed away August 10, 2018, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital. He had been a resident of Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Wellness Center for the past five years. Don was born in Rolfe, Iowa, to William Schoenberger and Elizabeth (Cox) Schoenberger on November 1, 1923. The Bobcat Golf Team started their fall season under new coach Joey Johnson last weekend with a two-day tournament in Cody and Powell. According to Johnson, this is the first of six meets the Cats will have this fall and while they placed 10th, they were up against schools like Natrona County, Kelly Walsh, Sheridan, Gillette and several other schools much larger than we are. For many years there have been concerns about the flow of the mineral water through Hot Springs State Park. A data collection chart dating back to 2006 shows the actual ebb and flow of not only the Big Spring, but the Maytag and Sacajawea Wells.
