    At the May Hot Springs County School District Board meeting, Mathew Johnson presented the proposed 2022-23 budget for the Central Wyoming College Board of Cooperative Higher Educational Services (CWC-BOCHES), approved on first reading by the CWC-BOCHES board of trustees during their April 25 meeting.     At the May 25 Hot Springs County Travel & Tourism public board meeting and yearly budget work session tourism director Jackie Dorothy reported that they continue to see growth in lodging with another record-breaking month from March revenues. This lodging tax revenue is from hotels, R.V. parks, and vacation rentals and brought in over $15,000, the highest amount received in the past eleven years for the early spring.   • Woman charged with eight counts of animal cruelty

    The Hot Springs County Sheriff’s Office has responded to a report of an animal abuse case on a property in Owl Creek. Following the investigation, three horses, one goat, two ducks, two pigeons, and one goose were seized. The Sheriff’s Office charged 79-year-old Carolyn Tribbett with eight counts of alleged cruelty to animals. Upon arrival at the property, deputies met with Tribbett and presented a search warrant.     The Farmer’s Market in Thermopolis will begin this Saturday, June 11 and end on October 1 every Saturday. Born August 18, 1955, in Sheridan, Wyo., he was one of three children of Robert and Evelyn (Davis) Deaver. Working on the family ranch in Gillette he was the third generation who eventually owned and operated the ranch after the passing of his parents. On July 10, 1991, he married Pam Cruse in Reno, Nev. On November 23, 1935, Don was born to John Edward Carey and Frieda Caroline Schmitt in Thermopolis, Wyo. His father was the youngest Fire Boss in Gebo, Wyo., and his mother was a school teacher in Kirby, Wyo.
