Last week the seventh and eighth grade boys basketball team kicked their season off with a two quads. The seventh grade played at Worland, while eighth was at Cody. Duder Harvey makes a drive toward the basket during the Bobcats' game against Riverside Friday afternoon. The boys saw two victories last weekend, with a 49-22 win against Riverside and a 42-31 loss to Lovell on Friday, and a 48-33 win over Greybull on Saturday. The Bobcat Speech and Debate team came home from their first tournament at Kelly Walsh High School with a third place win in 1A2A. Two-thirds of the team moved from preliminary rounds to semi-finals on Saturday with Kyle Mosser making finals in Drama, bringing home a fifth place finish. The Thermopolis Wrestling Club competed at the Eastside Wrestling Tournament in Casper on Sunday, Jan. 13. In Division 6U 48-51, Bain Lahoe placed fourth. During the Tuesday meeting of Hot Springs Travel and Tourism, the board continued discussion regarding the county having lower lodging tax collections. A report from the Wyoming Economic Analysis Division showed the county had a -0.7 percent change in lodging tax collections for the 2017-18 fiscal year.
