    In his analysis and conclusion documents issued on Sept. 21, Special Prosecutor Daniel E. Erramouspe, Sweetwater County Attorney, found that Thermopolis Police Sgt. Mike Mascorro illegally broke into a suspect’s home in April, causing a fatal shootout.     The 2023 Junior Livestock Auction and Judges' Choice Bake Sale brought in a record breaking $266,429.75, up from $218,963.26 last year. Official results from the live sale and baked good silent auction have been released. Twenty-seven head of beef came through the ring this year and sold for an average of $5,877.18 per head for a total sales amount of $158,683.75.     The Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce annual Demolition Derby took over the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds last Saturday. In the main event, JR Ramsey drove his way to first place to take home $3,000. Jordan Martin was second winning $1,500, Wyatt Ramsey was third winning $800 and Dusty Watts was fourth.     The Bobcat boys golf team wrapped up their season by winning first at the 2A Spring Championships at the Green Hills Golf Course in Worland last week.     Hot Springs County High School Bobcat Wrestlers opened their season in Wheatland last Friday. Eleven eligible wrestlers competed in three duals.     The 2020 Junior Livestock Auction and Blue Ribbon Bake Sale at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds on Friday night was a huge success, with total sales amounting to $180,195.25, up from $123,146 last year.     The Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous PRCA Rodeo has been canceled for 2020 due to COVID-19 health orders. The rodeo was scheduled for the last weekend in June.     The Thermopolis Police Department is working with the Secret Service to investigate the circulation of $5 bills that have been bleached and altered to appear to be $50 bills. The bills will pass the pen marker test as they are made on real currency paper. There are also counterfeit $100 bills being circulated.
