Pioneer Association seeking family histories

The Hot Springs Pioneer Association is continuing a project which began in 1996, recording the histories of Hot Springs County residents.

“Memories of the Past, the Next Generations” is an addendum to the original histories that were written about historical figures and families with deep roots and a few generations in Hot Springs County.

This time, they want updates to the original stories written by the next generation to keep something of a living history of the families in the area.

The histories should be in story form and a guide on how to create the history is available on their website, hschistory.org.

Histories need to be submitted to the museum either in person or electronically at hschistory@rtconnect.net or fax to 864-2974. If you include photos, they must be in a jpg file format.

Deadline for submission is July 31. An example of what the histories include is pictured below.
